About
35 years of silicate
Arman Chemical has been making sodium silicate in Brahmanbaria since 1991, from one site: furnace, milling, drums and office together.
Four grades come off it — adhesive gum, ceramic deflocculant, powdered silicate, and milled silica powder — sold mostly to Bangladesh's ceramics industry, plus detergent, foundry, coatings and construction buyers on repeat orders.

What we make
Four grades, held as a standing range — the two liquid silicates, the powder, and milled silica.
Sodium Silicate — Ceramic Grade
Deflocculant for the tile and sanitaryware lines. Holds a slip dispersed through casting.
Powdered Sodium Silicate
The same chemistry, dry. Easier to store, ship and dose — the blenders' grade.
Silica Powder
Milled silicon dioxide. Raw material for glass and ceramics, and food and pharmaceutical grade.

Ceramics
The core of the business, and where most of our tonnage goes.
- Deflocculant keeping clay particles dispersed in casting slips
- Reduced slip viscosity at lower water content
- Bonding greenware pieces before firing
- Silica powder as a raw material for porcelain bodies and glazes
Construction and sealing
Silicate reacts with free lime in cured concrete and leaves hard calcium silicate behind.
- Concrete densifier — higher compressive strength and wear resistance
- Waterproofing porous masonry, basements, tunnels and pools
- Refractory cement for boilers and furnaces, to 1,100°C
- Heat-resistant additive in structural coatings
Adhesives and foundry
The oldest use of the chemistry, and still the fastest and cheapest bond for porous materials.
- Corrugated boxes, paper tubes and fibre drums
- Sand binder in metal-casting moulds and cores
- CO₂ gassing for fast mould curing
- Bonding refractory materials
Food and pharmaceutical
